Take That, Ray!
To counteract yesterday's entry on something not very nice, today is going to be about the fabulous Take That and related things. First of all, thankfully, the great British public made the right decision and voted Leona the winner of the X-Factor, it was obvious that she was by far the better singer. I had had my fears becuase the people voting are of course the same people that kept the McDonald brothers in until a fortnight ago, but she got over 60% of the vote in the end. Well done her, I hadn't previously thought I liked all that Mariah Carey-esque warbling but it's not annoying me yet and I'm rather liking Christina Aguilera at the moment too, so maybe it's the whole American annoying diva thing that I don't like. And the lucky girl got to duet with Take That, which scored major points in my book, you can see it for yourselves here. Isn't it great to have Take That back again? I think they're better now than they were ten years ago, and I think I may have said that before on here. Their next single is a cracker too, can't help thinking it reminds me of the Beatles in some way but it's jaunty and catchy and I hope I get the album in my stocking this Christmas! The dancing on that link might however be the gayest in history...
Just had some leftover lamb for my dinner, am still trying to empty my freezer so I can defrost it but I can't help buying things when they are on special offer so I roasted a joint a couple of days ago and it's done me for three meals. Not buying more food until I've emptied my freezer is going to be my new year's resolution I think, although I don't do resolutions as a rule. Of course I'll be allowed to buy fresh stuff, but nothing just because it's a bargain. It's going to be hard!

Leaving X-factor contestants aside, it was quite interesting to watch Take That playing immediately after Westlife. Take That were just so much better. I do admit to owning a Westlife CD and in the summer we heard them live (I say heard as we happened to be standing outside Edinburgh Castle on the night they played,) but I don't think I ever really appreciated how good Take That were the first time around. Gary Barlow is a much better singer than anyone in Westlife. Take That's new single sounds like the Beatles' song- I think it's called "Hello Goodbye." I fully intend to go and buy the album myself. (I'm also wondering whether I'll get Gary's autobiography in my stocking too.)
I always, despite years of experience, make New Years resolutions. I must enjoy letting myself down, as they never last. I have never seen X-Factor - ever, but I'm pleased Leona won. If only because of the photos of the two finalists. He was a bit creepy looking. Ah well, on with the day.
I want an update and I also want pictures of your decorations.
